Our verdict

If you want a lot of nugget ice, the GoveeLife Pro is the one. It's rated for up to 60 lb a day, holds plenty of water and runs about as quietly as the Opal. It's heavy and its styling is loud even if the machine isn't.

Buy it ifYou go through a lot of ice and want a long warranty.
Skip it ifYou need to move it often, or prefer understated appliances.

Ice and output

Up to 60 lb a day, about 2.5 lb an hour, with the first ice in about six minutes. Reviewed reports the 60 lb figure is TÜV Rheinland-certified. The bucket holds 3.5 lb.

Water and cleaning

A 2.2-liter main tank plus a 4.9-liter side tank. It has a 10-minute quick clean and a 30-minute deep descale, and the app reminds you when each is due.

Fill it with filtered or reverse osmosis water and you'll descale less often. See the best water for an ice maker.

Design and weight

About 14 inches wide, 17.3 deep and 17 high. Reviewed weighed it at about 49 lb, roughly 15 lb more than the Opal, and needed two people to set it up. RGB lighting is customizable.

Warranty

A 3-year limited warranty on the whole machine, the longest of the nugget makers we compare.

How we evaluated it

This review is based on GoveeLife's published specifications, the owner's manual where available, independent test reports and owner feedback, compared against the other models we track. We'll add hands-on notes as our testing progresses.
