Our verdict

The G3P800 is the RO system we'd install. It fills a glass in seconds, wastes less water than any other under-sink system here, and is certified to four NSF/ANSI standards. It's expensive and the warranty is only a year.

Buy it ifYou want the best under-sink RO and have an outlet under the sink.
Skip it ifYou rent, or want a long warranty.

Filtration and certification

Ten stages, rated at 800 gallons per day with a 3:1 pure-to-drain ratio. Certified by IAPMO R&T to NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 and 372. A UV LED turns on as water flows.

Filter costs

A $29.99 carbon filter every six months, a $29.99 carbon block every 12 months and a $139.99 RO membrane every 24 months: about $160 a year. Filters twist out.

Install

Under the sink, with a faucet hole and an outlet. About 18.1 by 5.7 by 17.7 inches. Some owners find the auto-flush noisy. See how to install an under-sink RO system.

Countertop ice makers are filled by hand, so you can fill yours straight from the RO faucet. See the best water for an ice maker.

How we evaluated it

This review is based on Waterdrop's published specifications, the owner's manual where available, independent test reports and owner feedback, compared against the other models we track. We'll add hands-on notes as our testing progresses.

Yes, it uses a pump and UV light, so it needs an outlet.

Is it worth it over the G3P600?
